Job Overview:
The Quality Engineer will plan, and direct activities concerned with development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for industrial processes, materials, and products by performing the following duties. This position includes supervisory responsibilities, with the role encompassing, but not limited to, the following key duties.
- Develop and implement process improvements to improve quality, safety, and productivity. Evaluate and disposition non-conforming parts and products.
- Analyze and provide written response for customer returns. Implement corrective actions to eliminate future reoccurrence when technical, material or process issues are responsible.
- Provide sustaining engineering support to the facility's manufacturing and assembly areas as well as to outside suppliers.
- Investigates/troubleshoots internal and external customer issues and concerns.
- Initiate, research, and follow up on ECN's to assure their implementation.
- Provide assistance to customer and customer service representatives.
- Develop and implement procedures for manufacturing, assembly, inspection, and test processes. Conducts training sessions on these procedures.
- Provide tactical value engineering and quality support.
- Analyzes quality problems to determine the root cause, initiates and implements corrective actions to eliminate the root cause.
- Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
- Develops and establishes both FMEAs and Control Plans for production lines.
- Establishes program to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and of testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
- Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
- Directs workers engaged in measuring and testing product and tabulating data concerning materials, product, or process quality and reliability.
- Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality control activities.
- Follows all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.
- Support additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements:

- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Engineering is required and/or equivalent work experience.
- At least 1-3 years related experience in similar manufacturing environment.
- Flexible and willing to shift priorities, work overtime, and assist in other areas of the plant as needed.
- Willing to participate in continuous learning opportunities as part of job and personal development.
- Writes clearly and legibly.
Core Competencies:
- Quality Assurance approach (how to prevent issues before happening).
- Problem solving to take the assembly lines to the next level by analyzing quality problems to determine the root cause, initiates and implements corrective actions to eliminate the root cause.
- Analyze and provide written response for customer returns (8D report).
- Guide Quality Tech in root-cause and problem-solving activities pertaining MDI cadence (Management Daily Improvement).
- Lean Six Sigma; PFMEA; Control Plan; ISO 9001.

Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements
- This position will be based on-site with minimal anticipated travel.

- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, airborne particles and vibration from hammering of parts and using hand tools.
- Since it is a manufacturing environment, the noise level is usually loud due to the different machinery being operated (i.e. forklifts, hand tools, machines in other departments) and the testing that occurs.
- Normal noise exposure in the area ranges from 80-90 dba; hearing protection is required while on the plant floor.
