Statement of Purpose

To support the Operations department by collecting and assimilating data from multiple sources and providing analytical support to create presentations and data views for management review.

Training and Specialized Knowledge

  • Strong analytical and mathematical background with a penchant for accuracy and details.
  • Skilled in communication to understand internal customer needs to create meaningful tools and reports.
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Access, Excel, Word, Power Point, and their associated data connection methods and procedures.
  • Well versed in the creation and use of pivot tables within Excel, connecting to external data sources from Excel, and strong familiarity with Excel formulas and functions, include the creation of custom functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excels dynamic range and charting capability and its use and implementation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Excels VBA coding with prior VBA coding experience.
  • Advanced knowledge and use of Microsoft Excels Power Pivot Add-on.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Accesss data queries, SQL statement development and reporting to include in depth knowledge on database structure and creation.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Access VBA coding.
  • Advanced knowledge of Oracle SQL query.
  • Advanced knowledge of OACS.
  • Must be detailed oriented and organized to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Must be able to assimilate data and understand data quickly and develop the best reporting view possible to explain results to management.
  • Understanding of database structures and management for sales administration and forecasting requirements.
  • Knowledge of dashboard reporting tools and their implementation and maintenance.
  • Knowledge of sales forecasting techniques and the application of business intelligence to enhance forecasts.


Education

Bachelors degree in business, information technology, or related field or equivalent from an accredited university or college. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be acceptable.

Experience



  • Three to five years related business experience.
  • 3 to 5 years Excel VBA programming experience.
  • 3 to 5 years Access Database and VBA programming experience
  • 1 to 3 years Oracle SQL developer query writing experience
  • 3 to 5 years analytical and statistical experience
  • 1 to 2 years Data Visualization Software Tools (e.g. Oracle Analytics)

Specific Duties and Responsibilities



  • Develop, coordinate, and manage all the regular and ad hoc reports that cover many aspects of NIBs sales and operations.
  • Develop and maintain VBA-Based tools that support the operational functionalities of the Operations Department.
  • Update and maintain data for various databases including:

    • Pricing Database
    • PDP Database
    • Addition/Deletion Database
    • New Project Performance Database


  • Coordinate the distribution of all sales data to NIB management and Associated Agencies.
  • Assist in the execution of the organizations sales forecasting process as well as the analysis/dissemination of sales data via dashboard reporting tools.
  • Develop SQL queries to extract data and perform analysis on data to create summary reports and charts for management.
  • Develop and produce dashboard reports utilizing business line managers hierarchal structure requests to cut sales data into meaningful segments and present the information with analysis that can be quickly assimilated by the business line managers.
  • Assist Business Line Directors as requested to develop reports pertaining to their business lines.
  • Assist in the development of yearly sales forecasts by lines of business utilizing forecasting tools and business intelligence as part of a standard process to include regularly scheduled reviews to track the accuracy and adjustments of ongoing forecasts.
  • Provide sales information to NIB associated agencies, government customers, and NIB staff, which include sales by customer, and contract management information.
  • Produce reports including:

    • Sales Dashboard & Related Reports
    • Agency Dashboard
    • Data Integrity Report
    • Rejected Packages Report
    • Business intelligence reports as it pertains to the development of sales forecasts


  • Develop/Maintain Tools Including:

    • Project Assignment Tracking Tool
    • Contract Management Service (CMS) Tool
    • Base Supply Center (BSC) Tool
    • Post-PL Tool
    • Product Addition Tool




  • Proactively work with Senior Management and department directors to further develop and refine reporting to meet departmental needs.
  • Respond to Ad Hoc sales reporting requests in a timely manner.
  • Deliver special projects as assigned by Senior Management.
