Northwestern University is seeking a temporary Admissions Assistant for the Evanston campus.

Temporary Job Description:

The Admissions Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the admissions process for the Office of Professional Education within the McCormick School of Engineering. This position serves as the first point of contact for prospective students, ensuring a seamless and professional experience through responsive communication and meticulous application processing. Specific Responsibilities:

Prospective Student Communication:

  • Serve as the primary responder to email inquiries from prospective students, providing accurate and timely information about programs, admissions requirements, deadlines, and processes.
  • Engage with prospective students in a friendly and professional manner, demonstrating superior communication skills.
  • Ensure follow-ups and maintain a consistent, personalized touch throughout the prospective student journey.

Application Processing:

  • Process incoming applications in the Slate CRM system, ensuring all required materials are uploaded and properly categorized for review.
  • Maintain application records with precision and ensure accuracy in all stages of processing.
  • Facilitate the faculty review process by managing application data and providing necessary documentation.

Administrative:

  • Support: Assist in the preparation of admissions reports and other documentation as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to streamline processes and maintain an efficient admissions workflow.
  • Coordinate with other departments to address applicant needs or resolve inquiries.

Minimum Qualification:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Proficiency with Slate CRM and Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to connect with a diverse audience.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Highly engaging and personable demeanor, fostering positive relationships with prospective students and colleagues.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in managing data and processing applications.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and a collaborative team-oriented mindset.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in an academic admissions setting.
  • Familiarity with Northwestern University systems and procedures.
  • Previous experience supporting professional or graduate education programs.
