What you'll do:

The Senior Lease Accountant position is a dynamic role within a fast-moving organization and environment. This individual will be a key member of the team responsible for maintaining the accounting schedules for our consolidated lease portfolio which includes both real estate and equipment leases. They will act as the primary owner of the lease accounting system and will be encouraged to provide recommendations to improve the lease process and work with business partners to help them understand US GAAP and other financial areas related to leases.

• This position requires an experienced, strategic, and technical self-starter with the ability to successfully manage multiple tasks, projects, and changing priorities.
• Prepares, examines, and analyzes lease accounting records to ensure information in the lease accounting software is consistent with the lease agreements
• Perform month end close and the preparation of annual disclosures
• Prepare monthly journal entries related to leases
• Prepare reconciliations and roll forwards of critical balance sheet accounts at appropriate time intervals
• Act as the go-to for lease related questions and analysis
• Assist in the integration of real estate and equipment leases originating from M&A activity

What we look for:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3+ years of relevant work experience with leases
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• High proficiency in Excel
• Preference for experience in CoStar Real Estate Manager software but not required
