Description

This position reports to Vice President/Credit Manager, Lease Finance Group.

Basic Function

Responsible for underwriting Lease Finance transactions. Qualifying new opportunities, portfolio management of existing Lease portfolio. Also, responsible for assisting Lease Documentation Officer with scheduling, documentation review, and funding of Lease transactions.

Essential Duties
  1. Assist in evaluating the creditworthiness of potential clients via written and verbal presentations.
    • Evaluate credit, recommend or make risks known on lease transactions.
    • Prepare credit write ups with a focus on writing narratives on the solvency and inherent risks to include, but not limited to:
      • Assess lending risks, clearly identifying offsetting mitigants
      • Review and analyze financial statements
      • Complete collateral analysis
      • Recommend credit risk rating
    • Monitor factors affecting a variety of industries and connect their impact to clients' future operating and financial performance
  2. Perform additional departmental duties such as:
    • Complete annual reviews in line with Credit Policy
    • Review borrowing base certificates, covenant compliance and A/R agings as necessary
    • Attend Loan Committee meetings as requested
    • Attend bank meetings for current and/or potential lease clients
    • Maintain electronic credit files
    • Attend training as scheduled
  3. Coordinate, prepare and review lease documentation, for funding and ensure each is set-up on system of record with Lease Operations Department:
    • Ensures documents have been properly authorized and executed
    • Ensures funding is within parameters of the credit approval
    • Conducts due diligence, review of all documentation, to ensure all terms and conditions are in order
    • Ensures proper (physical and electronic) filing and maintenance of lease documentation packages and scanning of documents, including but not limited to: E-Original vault system
    • Updates exceptions tracking for receipt of lease monitoring requirements as well as ensures that post closing items are collected in a timely manner

Qualifications

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Ability to perform ratio analysis, complete risk assessments and make sound credit decisions
  • Proficiency in credit/lending transactions and analytical skills sufficient to independently underwrite credit commitments
  • Knowledge and understanding of lease documentation
  • Tact and diplomacy in dealing with team members, clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing with internal and external customers and with various levels of management
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Collaborative and strategic mindset to improve department processes and functions
  • Flexibility in adapting to changing volumes and areas of focus
  • Accounting and finance knowledge
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to multi-task while meeting deadlines


Training & Experience
  • College degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent related experience
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in banking industry
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in lease banking/lending
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Previous lease documentation experience desirable
  • Formal credit training preferred


Compensation
  • Expected Salary Range: $93,000 - $115,000
  • Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
