Heavy Equipment Mechanic

Leflore County Landfill is looking for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join the team in Sidon, MS. Our Equipment Mechanic will be responsible for the maintenance and repair of various types of equipment used in landfill operations such as: bulldozers, compactors, excavators, and loaders. You will play a crucial part in keeping our facility running efficiently and safely.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm.

Pay: $25.00/hr + depending on experience.

Responsibilities:

• Inspect, troubleshoot, and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and fuel system issues on heavy equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, filter replacements, and lubrication.
• Weld, fabricate, and modify parts as needed.
• Completing required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software programs.
• Collaborate with operators and management to ensure equipment is operating efficiently.

Qualifications:

• Skills: knowledge of hydraulics, electrical systems, and diesel engines.
• Licenses: valid driver's license to assist with road calls for emergency repairs.
• Physical Requirements: Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. and work outside.
