Job Description

The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is funding the South Central RPDC to hire an assistant director position for the 2024 CLSD Program. This is a full-time hybrid professional position to promote the evidence-based practices and ensure collaboration and coordination among literacy activities in birth-pre-K, K-5, 6-12, and higher education state-wide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • The position will assist in managing state-wide activities required by the Missouri 2024 CLSD Program
  • Provide a tailored approach that includes high-quality, job-embedded professional development focusing on evidence-based instruction aligned with the science of reading
  • Supporting in administration and data analysis for the mandated K-3 Foundational Reading Assessments, Reading Success Plan goal creation and progress monitoring through an established system of support, as well as supporting building coaches and teachers in meeting the building's comprehensive literacy plan goals
  • Guide school embedded literacy coaches and educators in making data-based decisions to improve instruction and meet the needs of each child
  • Implement full coaching cycles with participants that include identifying needs, planning lessons, modeling instruction, observing instruction, reflection, and feedback
Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in education
  • Prior educational consulting experience
  • Teaching certification and administration certifications
  • Experience leading and facilitating collaborative teams
  • Knowledge of curriculum design, formative assessments, and the use of data to drive instruction
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle and load/unload presentation materials up to 50 lbs. and set up technology for presentations
  • Ability to demonstrate a high level of skills in development, presentation, meeting facilitation, coaching and delivery of HQPD to adult learners
  • Working knowledge of technology and be able to use it in development, presentation, and delivery of training and technical assistance
Anticipated Hiring Range

The anticipated hiring range for this position has been established as $52,223 to $56,000 annually.

Salary is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's particular combination of education, skills, and experience, as well as organizational requirements.
