Job Overview

The Assistant, Marketplace Seller Acquisition & Business Development, supports the growth of Macy's Marketplace. This entrepreneurial role requires strong communication and analytical skills to support identifying, sourcing, and securing long-lasting partnerships with new Marketplace sellers at Macy's. Internally, this role reports to the Senior Manager of Marketplace Business Development and works closely with Digital, Merchandising, and other cross-functional partners across the enterprise to support the execution of the growth strategy for Marketplace. Externally, this role is responsible for vetting prospective sellers, sourcing contacts, conducting outreach while managing inbound leads through various platforms.

What You Will Do



  • Assist the Senior Manager, Marketplace Business Development, in executing the Marketplace growth strategy.
  • Support category curation and merchandising strategy by identifying and recruiting strategic sellers to enhance the Macy's Inc. customer experience.
  • Use data analytics tools to analyze category performance across Macy's channels and translate insights into actionable strategies within the marketplace platform.
  • Generate reports and visualizations to communicate key performance indicators (KPIs) and trends.
  • Conduct initial vetting, collect contacts, manage outreach and follow-ups with potential partners, and handle inbound inquiries.
  • Maintain calendar invites and updates in Salesforce to ensure seamless team coordination.
  • Develop pitching skills to engage sellers and effectively communicate the value proposition of the business model.
  • Gain deep knowledge of the Macy's brand and customer base to ensure Marketplace alignment.
  • Perform administrative tasks as needed to support Marketplace growth.

Proficiency in Digital Tools: Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and other relevant platforms to support operational excellence.

Action-Oriented Approach: Demonstrates a bias for action, acting quickly and deliberately to drive results.
