The Division of Geriatric Medicine in the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Successful candidates will join a collegial geriatrics division that includes physicians, nurse practitioners, and PhDs. This is a full-time position with varying/flexible work hours, including some evening and/or weekend coverage. The work site(s) may include (but may not be limited to) the University of Colorado Hospital (UCH) Seniors Clinics, University of Colorado (UCD) Division of Geriatric Medicine's administrative offices, various community nursing homes, UCH inpatient hospital sites, and the Denver VA Medical Center. Key Responsibilities: Examples of work performed may include:
- Provide care to patients in our Seniors Clinic(s)
- Attend on our nursing home teaching practice, which may include providing direction and supervision of clinic/hospital staff, students, residents and fellows.
- Attending responsibilities may also include up to 4 weeks/year on the inpatient Acute Care for the Elderly (ACE) service and rotating one half-day/month attending in the Geriatrics Fellows clinic. The incumbent will share responsibilities of night, weekend, and vacation coverage with other providers of the group practice and will participate in decisions regarding the practice operation.
- Educational responsibilities may include: a) teaching in a primary care setting (students, residents, and fellows); b) participating in an active clinical residency program; c) curriculum development for medical students, fellows and professional CME programs sponsored by the Division; and d) potentially supervising the geriatric training of Physician Assistant fellows and students, and/or other para-professional trainees.
- Work in our newly created ED prevention clinic. This role involves triage of geriatric medically complex patients, coordination with the multi-disciplinary team, virtual and in person assessment of the acute concerns of Seniors Clinic patients, and care coordination of these patients within the medical system.

Qualifications:
|
Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
- Current medical license in the State of Colorado
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in adult education
- Board Certified in Internal Medicine
- Have completed a fellowship in Geriatric Medicine
- Board Certified (or eligible) in Geriatric Medicine
- ACLS Certified
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Strong clinical and teaching skills and an evidence-based approach to clinical care

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE: Assistant Professor: $200,000 The above starting salary represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the starting salary at the time of posting.
