Description

The Configuration/Data Manager II will report through the JLCCTC Configuration Manager. The Analyst will be responsible for assisting with implementing configuration management at the project level. Typically involved in managing data records related to configuration identification, data management, software change control processes, change control organization, hierarchical change control, managing the correlation between products, data archival and retrieval procedures, baseline management, version control, data management, processing product deliveries and managing change sets. The Analyst will be required to coordinate and work with other teams while exercising the configuration management processes. Also frequently interacting with customers, subcontractors and may interact with senior management. Interactions normally involve matters between functional areas. Additionally, this position will be assigned to other projects or tasks in alignment with the level and scope of the position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:

As a Configuration/Data Manager II, responsibilities will include but may not be limited to:




  • Configuration Management Release planning
  • Identifying and maintaining multiple software baselines
  • Regulating the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into production software and related documents
  • Supports audits to verify that requirements of all baselines have been met by the as-built software.
  • Perform duties related to engineering documentation control, change, and release functions within the configuration management group by reviewing and processing all types of engineering documents for release and verifying authorizations in accordance with configuration management procedures and applicable program plans.
  • Maintains engineering documents and software media data in computer databases and stores computer generated engineering documentation in a central repository.
  • Helps in the creation of configuration status accounting reports and their distribution.
  • Participate in Configuration Control Boards.
  • Participate in Configuration Management driven audits for software and systems.
  • Provides configuration management support regarding site request deliverables.
  • Analyzes and maintains the contents (hard copy and/or electronic copy) of the configuration management library, notifying appropriate personnel of updates.
  • Receives products from authorized sources. Verifies for completeness and places under control.



MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:



  • 3 - 6 years of Configuration Management, Data / Document Management, or software development experience
  • BA/BS degree (relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
  • Must be able to obtain a SECRET or above security clearance
  • Ability to be well organized and follow processes
  • Detailed oriented - focus on accuracy of records, data, and reports
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Significant experience in Microsoft Office - Excel and Word



PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Demonstrated ability as a good communicator; capable of producing documentation and interacting well with others
  • Experience with SharePoint (Teams), SubVersion, Atlassian tools (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence and Crucible), Beyond Compare, Artifactory, ImgBurn
  • Working knowledge of Agile process
  • Familiarity with software and hardware data types
  • Familiarity in media duplication (Discs & Hard Drives)
