Job Summary Properly handles radiopharmaceuticals used in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; completes all diagnostic studies with optimal information; accurately completes contamination surveys and decontamination procedures; properly completes all Required Departmental and NRC forms. Performs studies according to Departmental procedures to achieve or produce optimal results. Promotes a cooperative and professional atmosphere with emphasis on patient care. Additional Requirements Required: Education - High School Diploma/GED Equivalent: General Studies Graduate of Radiologic Program or Nuclear Medicine Technologist Program Certifications - Basic Life Support (BLS) Healthcare Provider Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) - Within 60 days of hire or transfer; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Certification - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT); or Nuclear Medicine Technician - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) or Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Regarding BLS certification: The department you are applying to may require BLS certification sooner than 60 days post transfer/hire. The hiring manager will discuss this with you if it is applicable. Education - Associates: Related Field **Policy Number: MIS-7040-115 - Caregivers must be BLS certified upon employment or within their 90-day probation period. Physical Requirements: Heavy work - exerting up to 25 pounds of force constantly (67-100% of the time), and/or up to 50 pounds frequently (34-66% of the time), and/or up to 100 pounds of force occassionally (up to 33% of the time), and or up to 100 pounds of force seldomly to move objects. Possible exposure to radiation and frequent exposure to contaminated needles and infectious body substances.
