Psychological Sciences and Dean of Arts & Science Job Description
This position offers an exciting opportunity for a versatile and skilled trades professional to contribute to the dynamic operations of the College of Arts & Science, with a focus on supporting the Department of Psychological Sciences. The ideal candidate will have expertise in general trades with some experience in carpentry/woodworking, mechanical and electrical trades to ensure the functionality and upkeep of office, classroom, and laboratory spaces. This role involves a combination of independent tasks and collaboration with the university's Facilities team to deliver solutions for diverse needs but day-to-day will be responsible for general upkeep and maintenance. Advanced mechanical or electrical skills are not required. Key Responsibilities:
Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a skilled and resourceful trades professional who enjoys varied work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and possesses the general trades skills to handle basic tasks independently. In addition, proficiency in using tools and equipment, the ability to lift moderate weights (25-30 lbs), and adherence to safety protocols is necessary. The work is generally performed Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm. However, specific hours and days can be flexible. For instance, the department is willing to consider five 8-hour days or four 10-hour days. Minimum Qualifications
An Associate's degree or an equivalent combination of education and at least 1 year of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary. Preferred Qualifications
Employees working within this classification are required to wear appropriate safety equipment and apparel. Anticipated Hiring Range
