Accounting Support, Specialist

Your Role

The Accounting Support, Specialist responsibilities comprise daily operational tasks including check handling, responding to customer inquiries, processing invoices and/or expenses, enforcing T&E Policy, preparing month-end journal entries, reclasses and reconciling account balances and bank statements.

A successful Accounting Support, Specialist also leverages a thorough knowledge of accounting principles to analyze financial information and create reports and forecasts servicing Accounts Payable users and stakeholders.

Experience in creating reports using Business Intelligence tools and processing invoices/expenses on platforms such as Concur and Oracle Fusion highly desired.

Your Knowledge and Experience



  • Requires BA/BS in Accounting, Finance or related field and 4 to 6 years accounting experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated experience completing journal entries and general ledger account reconciliations
  • Experience using Oracle, SAP-Concur, Netsuite or similar Payables/GL platforms
  • Intermediate knowledge and experience using Excel for data analysis, reconciliations and reporting
  • Strong problem-solving skills, basic knowledge of accounting principles
  • Outstanding customer service skills


Pay Range: The pay range for this role is $25.21 to $35.29 for California.

Note: Please note that this range represents the pay range for this and many other positions at Blue Shield that fall into this pay grade. Blue Shield salaries are based on a variety of factors, including the candidate's experience, location (California, Bay area, or outside California), and current employee salaries for similar roles.
