Advantage Technical is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with programming for our state-of-the-art client in the Framingham area. Will collaborate with engineering. Apply today for a quick interview.

Pay Rate: 30-35 per hour based of experience.

Must have: CNC lathe and milling experience, will set up and program using Mastercam and G codes.

Overview:

The Machinist role involves setting up, operating, and programming CNC (Computer Numerical Control) and manual machines to create precision components, particularly for aerospace systems. This includes interpreting technical drawings, maintaining high standards of quality, and collaborating with teams to enhance manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

CNC Programming & Operation: The machinist will handle both setup and programming of CNC machines (milling and lathes) and ensure accurate production of parts.

Reading Blueprints: Understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, and CAD models is critical to ensure components meet exact specifications.

Manual Machining: When necessary, use traditional machining tools like manual mills or lathes, often for custom or prototype work.

Quality Inspection: The role requires using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to inspect the finished parts for compliance with quality and tolerance standards.

Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Ensuring machines are operational and performing at peak efficiency by addressing maintenance needs and resolving mechanical issues.

Process Improvement: Collaborating with engineers to streamline manufacturing processes and improve part designs for easier production.

Qualifications:



  • Experience: At least 3 years of hands-on experience as a machinist, focusing on CNC programming and operations.
  • Technical Knowledge: Proficiency in G-code programming and working with CAM software like Mastercam. Familiarity with manual machining tools and aerospace-specific materials is a plus.


Skills:



  • Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Problem-solving and detail-oriented mindset.
  • Education: High school diploma is required, but certifications from technical or trade schools are preferred.
