Job Description
JOB OBJECTIVE: Responsible for providing versatile support to multiple operational teams. This role is critical in executing Operations Flex projects which accelerate product enhancements, process improvements, and Operations-driven new product development. The individual will ensure the success of key projects by contributing to assay development, document management, and occasionally offering direct manufacturing support.
CORE DUTIES:
1. Support the Operations Flex Team by collaborating cross-functionally and providing technical expertise required for on-market product enhancements and changes.
2. Design and perform assays to problem solve and improve existing manufacturing and QC processes based on project needs.
3. Assist with and follow project plans and experimental design with assistance. Provide data or information to others in the work area and assist in implementation activities.
4. Understand quality requirements that relate to work area. Demonstrate good documentation practices and consistently produce quality product and documentation. Follow existing policies for data recording and record keeping.
5. Build a strong rapport with all team members as well as other departments within the company; foster trust-based relationships.
6. Utilize strong organizational skills to champion and manage execution of activities, ensuring products meet customer defined requirements.
7. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to draft, update, and maintain critical documentation, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and validation documents.
8. Efficiently navigate the Quality System and change control.
9. Integrate generative AI-tools into projects.
10. Embrace and incorporate Promega's 6 Emotional & Social Intelligence (ESI) core principles in daily work.
11. Demonstrate inclusion through actions and communication, contributing to a safe and respectful workplace.
12. Understand and comply with ethical, legal, and regulatory requirements applicable to Promega's business.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology). Degree and 3+ years of postgraduate lab experience in industrial manufacturing operations or pharmaceuticals.
2. Documented record of organizational and multi-tasking skills; ability to effectively work on several projects and/or products.
3. Documented record of accomplishment in experimental design and problem solving relevant to this position.
4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
5. High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. B.S. degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology). Degree and 5+ years of postgraduate lab experience in industrial manufacturing operations or pharmaceuticals.
2. Experience in product development or process improvement in a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
3. Experience with ISO 9001 or cGMP Quality System requirements (e.g., complaint investigation, nonconformance, change control).
4. Is a self-starter, creative, and capable of initiating and implementing methods to accomplish the requirements of this position.
5. Previous experience working in project management.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to remain stationary for extended periods while conducting lab work or drafting documents.
2. Ability to operate standard laboratory equipment and move between different laboratory settings.
3. Ability to occasionally lift and move objects up to 20 pounds.
4. Ability to position oneself in low positions (e.g., bending, crouching) to access equipment or materials.
