Role Summary

The Senior Manager, Industrial Engineering will oversee the industrial engineering activities for the design and development of a new product launch. This individual will be responsible for driving efficiency improvements, optimizing manufacturing processes, and ensuring that new product introduction timelines and quality standards are met for Manufacturing Engineering. The Senior Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, to ensure seamless execution. This role reports directly to the VP of Manufacturing Engineering.


Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the product launch war room, ensuring alignment with overall project goals, timelines, and budget.
  • Drive collaboration with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability and process optimization for the new product.
  • Utilize Lean Manufacturing principles to identify, analyze, and resolve any production-related issues during the product launch phase and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing process improvements to reduce waste, improve efficiency, and enhance product quality.
  • Oversee the design, testing, and implementation of production layouts, workstations, and automation systems to support high-volume manufacturing.
  • Ensure compliance with industry safety standards, environmental regulations, and quality control processes.
  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to production efficiency, product quality, and cost reduction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15 Years total, 10+ years of experience in industrial engineering within the automotive or manufacturing industry, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in managing new product launches, within the automotive sector.
  • Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles, and process optimization techniques.
  • Ability to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Strong communicator, able to build strong relationships across cross-functional teams, influence stakeholders, and foster collaboration to drive consensus and alignment on key initiatives.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations, quality standards, and environmental guidelines in the automotive manufacturing industry in North America.

Pay Disclosure

Salary Range for Normal, IL based applicants: $161,000 - $213,260 annually (Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary: Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full-time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Coverage is effective on the first day of employment.
