THE ROLE:

Technical leader responsible for Driver and Silicon Debug and customer engagement on AMD next generation products. The successful candidate will work as part of the customer engineering group; facilitating all aspects of debug and resolution for system level failures due to Software device driver and firmware - especially Graphics and Audio stacks. Candidate will be immersed with both internal and customer engineering team to support feature development and resolve issues. The candidate should be able to work in a global environment with good communication skills.

THE PERSON:

As a key contributor to the success of AMD's product, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve AMD's abilities to deliver the highest quality, industry leading technologies to market. As Device Software Debug Lead, you will be responsible for post-Silicon debug in the next generation of AMD's flagship server CPU products. In this role you will facilitate the debug efforts of a program to ensure the maximum debug throughput is achieved. The System debug lead will also help to drive improvements in the current product and future debug methodology working withSystem Validation and Engineering teams and other stakeholders (System Architects, IP design, SoC, FW, SW, manufacturing).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work across internal and customer teams to accelerate feature enablement, issue triage, and develop optimizations

  • Design and develop new groundbreaking AMD technologies

  • Participating in new ASIC and hardware bring ups

    • Debugging/fix existing issues and research alternative, more efficient ways to accomplish the same work

    • Work directly with customer on variety of engineering tasks

  • Develop technical relationships with peers and partners

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong programming background, C/C++ preferred

  • Experience with modern concurrent programming and threading APIs

  • Experience with Windows operating system development- especially kernel debugging, kernel-mode driver development and scheduling model

  • Experience with software development processes and tools such as debuggers, source code control systems (GitHub) and profilers is a plus

  • Effective communication and problem-solving skills

  • Motivating leader with good interpersonal skills

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
