Responsibilities

As a Production Supervisor you will be the primary point of contact for production operators as you provide direct guidance within your area of responsibility on the third shift (12:00 midnight to 8:00 AM). You will oversee plant activities, delegate work assignments to ensure production standards and deadlines are safely and effectively met in the fulfillment of customer orders.


Essential Job Duties

  • Coordinate and direct the activities of the department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality and promoting safety, plant housekeeping, and employee morale
  • Spend at least 80% of the time on the production floor with team members conducting walkthroughs of the shop floor at least once per hour to ensure compliance with 5S and safety policies, high performance standards, and quality excellence
  • Perform administrative duties at the end of every shift ensuring accurate completion of all paperwork including but not limited to production and downtime reports and any required incident reporting Drive daily production results and respond to changes in demand
  • Lead, train, and develop team members by providing continuous coaching and feedback
  • Under the direction of the plant manager, conduct required disciplinary actions for team members
  • Participate in employment decisions including interviewing, promotions, and terminations
  • Establish team and individual accountabilities for problem solving by assisting operators with trouble-shooting activities
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate reporting of asset quality, productivity, and other required metrics
  • Resolve conflicts among team members and refer issues to higher authority when needed
  • Communicate changes in business situations, production schedules, and company policies
  • Conduct daily team meetings, such as handover and GO meetings
  • Prepare or participate in safety and incident investigation and other reporting when appropriate
  • Actively participate in root cause analysis and Kaizen events as needed
  • Serve as a resource in resolving customer complaints
  • Serve as a member of the Emergency Response Team for emergency responses, first aid/CPR/BBP, and other health and safety operations



Minimum Requirements

  • This position is subject to the requirements of the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee
  • Minimum of high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have at least three years manufacturing experience in a supervisory role
  • Must be willing to submit to a background investigation
  • Must be willing and able to pass a post-offer drug screen

Physical Requirements, with or without accommodation

  • Must have 20/20 vision corrected in both eyes, to see small wire discrepancies and be able to discern various color graphics and color matches
  • Must be able to work more than 8 hours when required
  • Must be able to walk and stand for most of the shift
  • Must be able to bend and stoop, reach above shoulders, and possess fine motor skills to manipulate cable
  • Employee must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
  • Employee must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 200 lbs. with assistance
  • Required to ascend and descend stairs
  • Required to safely access and operate fast moving, heavy machinery
