SUMMARY

Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated cloud-based systems to ensure they are secure, scalable, and reliable.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: other duties may be assigned.

  • Designs and implements complex cloud architectures using Azure.
  • Develops and maintains Infrastructure as Code (IaC) with tools such as Terraform or ARM.
  • Collaborates closely with development teams to create and implement cloud solutions that align with business objectives.
  • Ensures the security of cloud infrastructure in compliance with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Creates automation scripts for efficient deployment and operations of cloud resources.
  • Monitors and optimizes cloud costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and adherence to budget.
  • Independently manages projects and processes with minimal supervision.
  • Provides training and mentorship to cloud administrators and other IT staff.
  • Effectively addresses challenging and complex problems.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Fifth-year college or university program certificate; or two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Engineer or similar role.
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong knowledge of IaC, containerization, and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert) are a plus.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to walk and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
