What You Will Do:

Complex Sourcing

  • Work collaboratively with our SCM Business Partners, operating Business Units, and Category Managers to develop project and operational materials and services strategies for complex sourcing.

  • Understand the need for potential early commitments into the market to ensure capacity availability for Project/Operations materials (goods) sourcing schedules.

  • Support and provide input into the creation and management of the Supply Chain plan (including estimated workload, materials (goods)/equipment/service requirements, outlining long lead equipment and RFx requirements).

  • Execute the full sourcing activity after receiving a requisition.

  • Lead cross-functional teams through sourcing development, proposal solicitation (RFX), evaluation (bid tab), facilitation of technical/commercial clarifications, negotiation and contract execution processes.

  • Accountable for forecasting required contracts and purchase orders.

  • Responsible for planning, reporting, and communicating on SCM activities.

  • Contributes to appropriate risk mitigation plans and processes for the assigned sourcing category

  • Ensures compliance with SCM and enterprise governance requirements.

  • Collaborates with, and seeks expertise of, other SCM departments (Governance, Quality, and Expediting) to meet deliverables and expectations.

Who You Are:

You have the following education & experience:

  • University degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field.

  • A minimum of seven (7) years of related experience in the SCM field.

  • A combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • Proven communication (oral and written), strong interpersonal, and presentation skills, with influencing and persuasive talents.

  • A proven ability to lead teams.

  • Demonstrated experience purchasing pipe and pipe coatings for liquids and gas transmission lines.

  • Demonstrated experience with marking up and negotiating complex commercial contracts.

  • Capable of explaining deviations to standard terms and conditions to the business on commercial matters to seek agreement or to create an alternative position.

  • In depth knowledge of RFx development and execution, contraction preparation and contract management.

  • Ability to perform objective analysis and evaluation of an issue to form a decision.

  • Ability to monitor and manage supplier relationships and performance with minimal supervision.

  • Experience with ERP systems for PO creation. Specifically, Oracle - R12 or Cloud.

Preferred:
  • A postgraduate qualification or MBA.

  • Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) / Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) designation or equivalent is an asset

Physical Requirements:

Include but are not limited to: Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement. Mobility to walk in outdoor conditions that occasionally involve uneven and slippery terrain and to enter and exit excavations. Agility with the ability to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and other devices using feet and legs, and/or hands and arms.

Include but are not limited to: Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
