Job Title: Grants Coordinator/ Grants Project Specialist

Location: 255 Westminster Street Providence RI 02903

Duration: 4+ months (possible extension)

Hours/Week: 35.00 hrs./week

Shift Timings: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM

Job Description:

  • The Office of College and Career Readiness is seeking a grants project specialist to support the final stages of an Education Innovation and Research computer science grant from the US Department of Education. Additionally, the grants project specialist will oversee funding and program needs for a Rhode Island State Fiscal Recovery Fund (SFRF) within Adult Education.
  • The successful candidate should possess skills in grant and project management, budgeting, strategic thinking and planning, oral and written communication, data collection and reporting. This temporary position candidate will work closely with Adult Education staff members. Knowledge of adult education programming in Rhode Island is helpful.
  • Additionally, this temporary position candidate should expect to participate in our computer science (CS4RI) core team, provide support to our research partners (EDC), and submit final grant reports to the state and federal governments. This position has potential to extend through December, 2026.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the development and submission of the federal Education Innovation and Research grant proposal.
  • Collaborate with educators, stakeholders, and team members to gather data and insights on work-based learning in computer science.
  • Conduct comprehensive data analysis to support grant objectives and outcomes.
  • Prepare and maintain detailed budgets and financial reports related to the grant.
  • Ensure compliance with federal regulations and guidelines throughout the grant process.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to stakeholders on project findings and progress.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of all grant-related activities and communications.


Required Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in grant writing, management, and submission processes.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation, with a strong aptitude for using relevant software tools.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Experience with budgeting and financial management related to grant funding.
  • Knowledge of computer science education and work-based learning practices is a plus.
