Responsibilities

Since 2012, Peraton and its partners have been providing full life cycle support of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) electronic Health Records (eHR) solution. The eHR is a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) case management system for maintaining records of medical treatment provided to individuals detained by ICE. ICE detainees receive medical, dental, and mental health evaluations and treatment necessary and appropriate for the individual's medical condition and length of stay. The ICE Health Services Corps (IHSC) provides health evaluations, treatment, and services to ICE detainees held in detention facilities across the country. IHSC personnel use the eHR to document health care provided to these detainees. The eHR is an integrated healthcare information system comprised of several components, which record and manage detainee healthcare evaluation and treatment information as well as process claims for payments to external healthcare providers.

The System Administrator for the DHS ICE eHR Operations & Maintenance (O&M) program will be responsible for configuration, support and deployment of several eHR components. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible to deliver on the current O&M support contract, support additional DHS ICE eHR pursuits, and any follow-on client delivery work as applicable. The applicant should be detail oriented with comprehensive attention to detail, proactive, self-motivated and should think outside the box as their contribution to team's consistent exceptional customer ratings.

The System Administrator will be responsible for the following but not limited to:

    Serve as Tier 2 Technical Support:
    • Maintain & update EHR systems and components, including routine updates, security finding remediations, and troubleshooting user-related, systemic & performance issues
    • Liaise with vendors to diagnose and correct issues when they occur and to support ongoing maintenance & updates both on a regular schedule and occasionally as large updates are made available & necessary
    • Assist with testing and planning tasks as appropriate
    • Provide task-level and investigative support to the program's Security Engineer
    • Seek ways to improve the end-user experience and make daily operations more efficient
    • Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the support of systems within their responsibility and where appropriate should document Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) and any changes to the system due to security or application and platform updates
    • Perform routine backup & recovery operations
    • Become familiar with and make use of various system monitoring and automation tools
  • Quickly acquire working knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) server administration
  • Quickly acquire working knowledge of the ICE System Lifecycle Management Process
  • Work virtually with the client, the team, and COTS vendor representatives.
  • Support planned deployments and go-lives. These will require after hours support occasionally.
  • Support related DHS ICE pursuits and follow on client delivery work as applicable.


Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 2 years with BS/BA; 6 years with no degree
  • Minimum of 2 years working with VMware, Azure, or AWS cloud infrastructure
  • Minimum of 2 years working with information system network solutions
  • Ideal candidates will have some experience working with any electronic health records (eHR) systems
  • Ideal candidates will have experience with on-line work & life-cycle management systems such as Service Now, Confluence & Jira
  • Ideal candidates will have experience working remotely and managing their time effectively

Proven ability to exhibit critical soft skills, including:

  • Can conform to shifting priorities, demands, and timelines
  • Advanced use of modern information-gathering resources including search-engines, AI, & vendor documentation in the pursuit of understanding and resolving issues that arise with systems under their care
  • Communication skills including documentation and intermediate project planning
  • Competency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years as a Microsoft information systems administrator
  • Experience with Cerner/Oracle Health Millennium EHRM solution, particularly a federal implementation w/DoD, VA, or USCG
  • Working knowledge of eClinicalWorks (eCW) Server administration
  • Experience with MySQL & Microsoft SQL Server Administration including clustering & replication

Target Salary Range

$66,000 - $106,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
