Planning & Inventory Control Supervisor - 1st Shift

Johnson Controls' Wichita operation designs, builds and distributes around one million pieces of residential heating and cooling equipment every year. Johnson Controls Wichita builds and assembles some of the biggest HVAC brands in the industry, including York, Luxaire, Coleman, Champion and Guardian.

The primary manufacturing campus sits on 63 acres with a total of 1.3 million square feet. It has also translated into large employment growth in Wichita, where its workforce is around 1,600 employees which is up nearly 22 percent year over year. The Wichita manufacturing facility is the largest non-aircraft manufacturing plant in Wichita.

What you will do

The Inventory Control Supervisor will be responsible for developing the budget and manpower requirements for the inventory control functions within the plant (Warehouse Management System); promoting a performance based culture focused on providing customers with an exemplary experience by partnering with peers in Warehouse Supervision to create solutions and processes that yield accurate inventory counts in order to optimize efficiency; demonstrating behaviors of the Leadership Expectations Model and building a positive high performance work environment through equitable treatment and employee engagement will be a key performance indicator in this role.

How you will do it

  • Develop weekly/monthly on inventory accuracies to be reported out in communication meetings.

  • Partner with production controls to engage and utilize production planners in the cycle count program and help manage end-of-life products and materials in the warehouse.

  • Work Closely with production control and planners to ensure product is available prior to production run.

  • High level of parts planning for production.

  • Utilizing Warehouse Management System (WMS)

  • Support the development, launch and ongoing management of WMS in the plant

  • Responsible for keeping MWS maintained and up to date as the plants material flow transitions over time

  • Plan, direct and monitor the materials planning, inventory control storage activities so that the organization has access to the inputs, materials, goods, and services it needs to for the current and future operations

What we look for

Required:

  • University degree of equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience in a warehouse or manufacturing environment.

  • Prior experience in cycle counting, warehouse management and MRP systems.

  • High level quantitative and analytical skills.

  • Organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and manage priorities.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.

  • SAP Knowledge

  • Ability to work 1st shift: Monday-Friday 6AM-4PM
