Senior Inbound & Outbound Operations Manager

Purpose:

The Senior Operations Manager is a senior leader in the Adidas North American Supply Chain organization responsible for overseeing the distribution center operations in Spartanburg, SC. They will also support driving improvement in supply chain efficiency and costs reduction and a balanced approach to developing executive leaders for future growth and assignments. We are looking for a smart, analytical, and innovative leader who will lead these areas in a scalable way that will support rapid growth as well as our long-term business strategy. This position offers an opportunity to make a significant impact on Adidas' largest sales supporting campus.

A successful candidate will possess superb business judgment, supply chain experience, and strong skills in working collaboratively and cross-functionally. The candidate must also possess a proven track record of delivering results. They will have strong analytical capabilities, problem-solving and decision-making abilities. This individual will be a strong people leader with the ability to effectively manage multiple layers of management across a multiple shift operation. The position requires an individual who can work both autonomously and collaboratively in a demanding and often ambiguous environment with strong attention to detail and effective prioritization.

DC Operational Execution:



  • Manage Distribution Center operations and be accountable for achieving safety, cost, productivity, SLA, and quality targets.
  • Coordinate and lead all activities related to Inbound, Case Reserve, and Shipping functions within the Distribution Center across all shifts.
  • Collaborate with peer Senior Managers to ensure building flow is planned and maintained.
  • Coordinate order processing to achieve productivity, cost, and throughput targets.
  • Participate in staff planning to support the forecast, ensuring the facility is prepared to support the business as necessary.
  • Build a strong performing team and develop direct report executives for future growth.
  • Maintain all OSHA safety standards including all reporting of accidents, injuries, damages, and potential threats to safety.



Continuous Improvement (CI), Performance Ecosystem (PeS), and Labor Management (LM):



  • Partner with the CI teams to continue developing a culture of continuous improvement and cost saving initiatives.
  • Lead the Operations Team to set PeS on the shop floor.
  • Own the standardization, quality, and maintain the relevancy of SOPs, Shop Floor Management, Leader Standard Work, Process Confirmation (Gemba), and Lean Methods.
  • Participate with the CI and Operational Team to identify improvement opportunities (with focus on cost, SLA, quality, and safety).
  • Drive change management with shop floor leaders for respective CI initiatives to ensure successful go-live, adoption, and sustained lasting benefits.
  • Utilize LM to drive performance through effective people management and coaching.
  • Support the development of business cases to reduce labor, packaging, and other operating costs.

  • Strong MS-Office skills (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint).



Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:




  • Minimum of Bachelor's degree or 5+ years of related industry experience.


  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive work experience with demonstrated knowledge of current supply chain solutions and processes.
  • Project and process management skills within four-wall Distribution Centers.
  • Experience with managing complex Distribution Center operations.
  • Prior experience leading leaders.
