Baton Rouge, LA
PSC Group is looking to hire a Leave of Absence Administrator for our Baton Rouge Office. The Leave of Absence Administrator oversees the administration and compliance of employee leave programs, ensuring alignment with company policies and legal requirements. This role includes managing leave requests, maintaining accurate records, and providing support to employees and management throughout the leave process. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of leave laws, excellent organizational skills, and a customer service mindset.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local leave laws, such as the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
- Review, exercise discretion, and provide independent judgment to make decisions on employee leave requests.
- Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and confidentiality standards when handling sensitive employee information.
- Work with HR and legal counsel to address any leave-related compliance issues, concerns, and/or employment decisions.
- Serves as the primary contact for leave of absence inquiries, responsible for maintaining accurate records, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with applicable laws and company policies throughout the leave period.
- Review and determine possible accommodations for Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) requests.
- Facilitate the interactive process with employees in accordance with the ADA.
- Verify eligibility for different types of leave based on company policies and applicable laws.
- Communicate with employees to gather any additional information or clarification required.
- Coordinate with managers and HR to obtain required approvals.
- Update HR systems and databases with accurate and up-to-date leave information.
- Prepare and distribute necessary leave-related forms and documents to employees, managers, and HR personnel.
- Facilitate clear and timely communication between all stakeholders throughout the leave process.
- Provide guidance to employees and managers regarding leave policies, entitlements, and procedures.
- Cross-train with other HR team members to ensure seamless coverage of benefits, compensation, or other administrative tasks during absences or peak periods.
Preferred Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field is a plus.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Previous experience in HR administration, leave management, or a related role is preferred.
- Familiarity with HR systems and databases for leave tracking and record-keeping.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple leave cases simultaneously.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively interact with employees and stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive employee information with discretion.
- Proficiency in using standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite).
- 18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
- Stable work history with good references from past employers
- Attendance as scheduled and punctuality are required
- Pass a drug screen, background check, and physical (if applicable)
- Speak, write, and read fluent English
