Title: Project Engineering Manager
Location: Independence, MO

Salary: $105,000 - $133,000
Schedule: 980 schedule

The Project Engineering Manager will oversee a varied team of project engineers responsible for developing and implementing the manufacturing process for the Army's Next Generation Squad Weapon Ammunition that is currently being manufactured at Lake City.

This position offers extensive exposure throughout the facility as the team focuses on implementing new manufacturing methods across all stages of the process, including both energetic and non-energetic areas.

Project Engineering Manager Essential Job Functions:

  • Manages performance and professional development of direct report employees.
  • Collaborates with other functional areas and customers to implement practical solutions to problems as they arise.
  • Acts as a company/customer interface and balances the interests of the customer with Olin Winchester stakeholders.

Project Engineering Manager Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree* in Engineering or related technical field; Master's Degree** preferred.
  • Minimum 7 years of recent related engineering experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of recent Project Engineering or Project Management experience.
  • Experience with the manufacturing of small caliber ammunition preferred.
  • Ability to use computer applications to collect, analyze, and communicate technical and non-technical information.
  • Minitab, InfinityQS, Visio experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership, communication (verbal and written), and ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Must have a valid US Driver's License.

  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.

  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
