Surgical Services Support Technician - Operating Room - Per Diem

A Brief Summary:

Responsible for assisting in the provision of nursing care to patients as delegated by a registered nurse. Responsible for performing tasks to support unit function.

What you will do:

• Demonstrates a commitment to the mission of Swedish Hospital and demonstrates a service orientation and adheres to all responsibilities and standards of the Hospital.

• Transports patients to and from the Operating Room, PACU and outpatient Surgery Units.

• Assists with cleaning the Holding Area, the Operating Rooms and PACU between procedures and at the end of the OR schedule.

• Assists in maintenance, care and placement of equipment, instruments and supplies. Cleans and/or assists with cleaning specialized Operating Room equipment.

• Participates in interdepartmental communications, deliveries and procurement of supplies, specimens, schedules and equipment. Coordinates with Processing and Distribution Department for the receiving and dispatching of Operating Room materials.

• Participates in maintaining an environment conducive to safety, patient comfort, privacy and confidentiality.

• Gives direct patient care under supervision of OR and/or PACU nurse.

• Attends in-services and staff meetings.

• Picking cases for next day procedures.
