The Psychologist performs patient assessments and makes diagnoses to patients with mental, emotional, or behavioral health challenges. Working under close supervision, this role delivers psychological treatment through counseling and other evidence-based therapy methods with the goal of returning patients to optimal function. |

Supports the completion of comprehensive psychological assessments, including interviews, psychological testing, and diagnostic evaluations, to understand patients' emotional and mental health needs. Assists with diagnosing and developing treatment plans for individuals with various mental health conditions, such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and mood disorders. Helps provide evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychotherapy, and counseling, to help clients address psychological and emotional challenges. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, including psychiatrists, social workers, and nurses, to ensure coordinated care and treatment planning. Maintains accurate and confidential patient records, documenting assessment findings, treatment plans, and progress notes. Educates patients and their families about mental health conditions, coping strategies, and self-care techniques. Performs other duties as assigned. |
EDUCATION: |
Required: Master's Degree in Psychology or a related field |
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION/REGISTRY/LISTING: |
Required: Valid North Carolina professional license as a Psychologist; BLS (CPR)-American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider |
