Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and high-performing individual to join our Software Engineering team as a Senior Software Engineer. This senior technical role is responsible for supporting Applications running primarily on Windows Servers, and supporting the Quarter-end Process which runs for ~3 weeks and requires off-hours shift assignments. In this role you will have opportunity to work with leading-edge technologies and leveraging AWS Cloud based data platform.

The successful incumbent will have strong technical and problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. As a member of the team that supports AWS Cloud based applications, responsibilities include application support, responding to service requests, debugging and problem solving, security reviews, maintaining stability, requirements analysis, performance and tuning, writing technical specifications, as well as participation in design reviews. The desirable candidate will show initiative, be accepting of responsibility and be accountable for results, with a willingness to learn new technologies.

What will you do?

  • Maintain essential IT infrastructure, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, software, and hardware.
  • Provide ongoing support of AWS Cloud based application systems in production including responding to service requests, problem analysis, resolution, escalation and reporting as necessary.
  • Identify and participate in improvement, system renewal, stability, upgrade, and Disaster Recovery projects.
  • As a member of the operations support team, interface with developers, infrastructure teams, system designers, business system analysts, application analysts and testing specialists to deliver high quality solutions and maintain a stable, high performing application environment.
  • Create and maintain supporting documentation.
  • Participate in various review processes - e.g Business Requirements, Test plans, Design reviews, etc to gain a solid understanding of the application and provide input into the various deliverables from a support perspective.
  • Design, develop, code, test, and debug programs for various projects.
  • This role includes on-call and after hours support on a team rotation basis.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Perform server administration tasks (ex: user/group, security permissions, group policies, print services); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly
  • Monitor data-center health using existing management tools, and respond to hardware issues as they arise; help build, test, and maintain new servers when needed
  • Ability to support servers on-premise (physical/virtual), and cloud hosted (AWS/Azure)
  • 4+ years of progressive information technology experience with full application development life cycle and systems integration experienceusing ETL tools and demonstrated experience usingAWS-GLUE
  • University degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Familiarity with OS scripting - Powershell, VBScript, Command Shell
  • Experience with (or willing to learn) Python/Pyspark and GLUE
  • Essential to have demonstrated strong core competency in SQL.
  • Excellent collaboration skills and proven ability to adapt to challenges, coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to work in a global multi-site environment and working in a matrix environment, onshore/offshore IT mode.
  • Ability to engage with a team of diverse skill sets and interface with peripheral technical teams.
  • Experience in creating technical documentation such as data mappings to reflect lineage and data flows.
  • Experience with the DevOps tools (Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, CDD, Ansible)
  • Experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) best practices.
  • Understanding file transfer process and options (FTP/SFTP)
  • Knowledge of ITIL standards and best practices
  • Experience with project management and software development life cycle/SDLC; Agile and Lean (3+ years)
  • Excellent documentation skills including technical writing, Visio, PowerPoint, flowcharting (3+ years)
  • Strong communication and analytical skills, including conceptual, requirements interpretation, solution creation and problem-solving abilities.

Salary Range: $98,400 - $147,600

Your actual base salary will be determined based on your unique skills, qualifications, experience, education, and geographic location. In addition to your base salary, this position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive award based on your individual performance as well as the overall performance of the business.
