What Do We Do?

Business Unit: EHS

I do EHS compliance work from permits, programs, audits, collaboration, and projects to maintain safe environments.

Ongoing Projects

Meetings, gembas, environmental and safety audits, project management, legal reports, training new hires, training on new program or PPE updates, risk assessments, incident investigation, liaison with regulatory agencies, data analysis, equipment safety checks, editing and creating documents, and continuous improvement.

Your Role as an Intern

You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting the following tasks:

• Chemical review at facility, updating tracking charts for EHS, audits, LOTO review, assistance on multiple ongoing projects.

What Do We Require?

You must be:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree or masters degree program majoring in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene or related field
• Minimum 3.0 GPA
• Willing and able to work on-site at our Clearwater, FL location.
• Applicants MUST be US Citizens or Green Card Holders due to Carpenter's government contracts.

Pay Range

Hourly rates are based on: 1 - Program of study; 2 - Degree type (i.e., Bachelor's); 3 - Progression in degree (i.e., 1st year, 2nd year, etc.). The range for this position is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour for bachelor's students and $30.00 - $35.00 for masters students.

Commuting/Housing Assistance (If Eligible)

Interns who must commute to work from outside the immediate Clearwater, FL area (over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $2,400 (less applicable taxes) as excessive commute allowance. Interns who choose to temporarily relocate from outside the immediate Clearwater, FL area (moving over 50 miles one-way), will be paid a one-time lump sum payment of $4,800 (less applicable taxes) as a housing allowance. If applicable, this payment would be made during the first payroll cycle, which would be three or four weeks following the internship start date.
