Job Summary The Senior Risk Manager - Data Risk Officer is part of KeyBank's second line of defense (2LOD) Data Risk Governance Office (DRGO). This role will be responsible for providing oversight and driving the identification, monitoring, and mitigation of data risks and ensuring operational resilience within the first line of defense (1LOD). The Data Risk Officer ensures adoption of second line of defense (2LOD) Data Risk Management policies, standards, and framework across the enterprise and will engage with senior leaders and stakeholders across various business units to reinforce robust data governance frameworks, data risk and controls, and adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies. Data Risk Officers consist of experienced professionals who provide subject matter expertise to objectively evaluate, independently oversee, and constructively challenge 1LOD teams, governance, processes, and controls. This role will support coverage of designated business unit(s) on all elements pertaining to data risk in close coordination with the 1st LOD business, risk, and control teams and other 2LOD risk partners while ensuring the effectiveness and compliance to the Data Risk and Enterprise Risk Policies. The position has responsibility for oversight of business unit (s) data risk programs and policies, which includes providing highly specialized guidance and oversight on current and emerging legal, regulatory, and data risk issues, monitoring and measuring data risk performance, and reviewing and challenging of strategy (initiative, products, third parties, clients), control design, implementation, testing, and remediation for designated business unit (s). Responsibilities The Data Risk Officer will ideally be an experienced risk manager with experience in data risk management or data governance in a regional or globally complex, dispersed, and diverse financial services organization.
- Lead efforts in identifying, assessing, and managing data risks for designated business unit(s), ensuring alignment with Key's data risk appetite
- Provide credible challenge and assess adherence to data risk-related policies, standards, and adoption of data risk management frameworks and data governance capabilities
- Serve as a trusted advisor to the 1LOD on matters relating to data risks, controls, and processes, fostering awareness and best practices
- Provide expert guidance on data risk-related policy, standard, procedures interpretation, data transformations, control implementation, and data remediation
- Provide specialized authoritative advice and consultation on current and emerging legal and regulatory compliance requirements related to data risk including proactively anticipating and responding to regulatory changes, assessing the impact to the business unit (s), and assisting the business unit(s) in responding to the change.
- Perform data risk assessments and challenge 1LOD Risk and Control Self-Assessments (RCSA) and business units (s) risk profiles to ensure appropriate data risk considerations
- Provide 2LOD review of data risk issues, events, and support 1LOD remediation plans
- Provide feedback on data risks associated with the offering of new products and/or services, technology, processes, strategies, or business initiatives as well as data risks associated with outsourced third-party activities of the business unit(s)
- Assess data risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation, and safeguarding KeyBank, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency, as well as effectively overseeing the activity of others and creating accountability with those who fail to maintain these standards

Education Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent experience may be considered) in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Finance, or Business Administration, Information Technology. (required)
- Master's Degree Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., FRM, CRISC) are preferred. (preferred)
Licenses and Certifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CDMC, DCAM CDMP, CPA, CIA, CISMP (preferred)
Experience Qualifications
- 7+ years progressive experience in risk management, internal audit, data management/governance, control-related functions, or in-business risk and control groups in a financial services firm. (required)
- Broad and comprehensive knowledge and understanding of banking operations including regulatory requirements.
Tactical Skills
- In-depth knowledge of risk management frameworks, methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of data governance, data analytics, systems development, systems testing, or data risk management best practices
- In-depth knowledge of data management, data governance, data quality or related data frameworks (e.g., DAMA DMBOK, EDM Council DCAM, BCBS 239).
- Strong understanding of privacy, information security, technology, and data governance related laws and regulations impacting data risk management
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to critically evaluate complex processes and identify control gaps
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse stakeholders
- Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy and quality in all deliverables

This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $120,000 to $180,000 annually depending on job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance. Please click here
