JOB MISSION:

This pivotal role within the New Balance North America Direct to Consumer (DTC) Retail Stores will be responsible for building and managing the allocation team and delivering the efficient distribution of product to all vertically owned Full Price and Factory Outlet Retail Stores. The Allocation Manager will be responsible for maintaining optimal store stock levels to achieve planned sales whilst building cross functional relationships at all levels with Planning, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Logistics and Store Operations.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Manages the Allocations and Logistics team for North America for both Full Price and Factory Outlets ensuring a constant, consistent and timely supply of product to hit the stores sales targets. This is inclusive of managing Associate Allocation Managers that oversee subsets of the retail business.
  • Support the planning team in developing Back of House (BOH) Capacity plans that your team will track against. Inclusive of informing those plans, help support new location BOH delineations. Weekly monitor and report out status of stores against current and upcoming capacities against stock levels to make decisions on allocation action and to highlight any potential risks to the supply chain.
  • Develop and maintain a good understanding of store profiles inclusive of master data, lead time management and location delivery requirements to improve the allocation process, cluster the stores into categories and continually improve the allocation process.
  • Collaborate with the Planning team to forecast and plan all shipment volume by Region, Channel and Warehouse to supply distribution network with visibility to volume during all times of the year, inclusive of Peak Weeks. Weekly report out the forecast and meet monthly with distribution and Sales Ops teams to review SLA metrics. Report out these metrics monthly to Store/Field Operations/
  • Monitor the deliveries and KPI's of the warehouse whilst proactively highlighting risks, priority deliveries and any reporting any issues related to operational product flow. Report out weekly to field teams on allocation status', issues and resolutions. Communicate any changes to standard process or any time there is disruption of service.
  • Ensures that new store openings run accordingly to the business timelines set out by the Operations team and that allocations, warehouse picks and deliveries are planned effectively between the Merchandising and Allocation teams.
  • Weekly contact with the full price and outlet merchandising team to review priorities for allocation including new products, aged inventory and launches.
  • Working with the Retail technology team to continually review and improve the allocation and replenishments process and use of the retail APTOS system. Explore and pursue different methodologies that can optimize sell through and freight efficiency.
  • Work closely with the Full Price merchandising teams to effectively plan and deliver launch product to the stores in a timely manner to hit Hard Launch Dates. Report weekly to full Merchandise Team and Retail Management (Office and Field) on status of new launch shipments and delivery status.
  • Effectively plan and execute the transitional period between seasons collaborating with, Merchandising, Logistics, Stores and VM to deliver full floor set refreshes in inline and cohesive collection launches in Outlets
  • Work with logistics to identify improvements and efficiencies in deliveries to stores, mapping out the allocation timelines to ensure everything works smoothly.
  • This role will be held accountable to the following KPI's; but not exclusively: WOS, Turn, Delivery Time, Capacity Usage, SLA Aligned Metrics
  • This role is the accountable team member for any other strategic projects related to NA Retail Allocation and Logistics.
  • This role requires quarterly travel to Markets and Distribution Centers as need.

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:

  • 3-5 years of allocation experience in a management position from a retail background
  • Experience in allocation processes and technologies
  • Strategic and Adaptive approach to building new processes and bringing change
  • Ability to build and manage a team
  • Process orientated and analytical
  • Strong communication and a team player
