Summary:

The Sr. Director, Thought Leader Liaison will develop strategies to support education and data generation, enhancing Pacira's value proposition in alignment with the marketing plan. This role leads Key Opinion Leader (KOL) engagement, expanding capabilities through innovative solutions. Working with pain management experts, the Sr. Director customizes tactics to meet unmet needs and liaises with external stakeholders, including group practices and educational targets. They will manage setup, contracting, and follow-up for regional and Pacira-driven PITT events, collaborating closely with Brand teams, sales, medical teams, and business partners. The Sr. Director also serves as a liaison between internal teams and external stakeholders, including KOLs, health educators, and large anesthesia organizations.


Responsibilities

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by an individual assigned to this job. Other duties may be assigned.

* Lead the development and execution of KOL engagement strategy, marketing education strategy and faculty development. This includes oversight of regional peer to peer marketing plans, and other related activities as needed.
* Serve as a key member of the Brand team by providing local market insights and feedback to shape future strategies for the Brand.
* Build trusting relationships with academic and community KOLs, and other key stakeholders to achieve above-brand priorities.
* Maintain pulse on regional trends and closely coordinate regional marketing education and engagement plans with cross functional partners to ensure heightened KOL and customer engagement strategies that are fully aligned to the Brand strategic imperatives.
* Partner with integrated analytics team to better understand regional variations in treatment patterns to inform peer to peer and insight program placement.
* Closely monitor the regional marketing budget and provide continuous feedback on business planning.
* Assist in shaping future innovative educational platforms including national and regional recommendations to tailor our education to local needs and creating innovative solutions in further engaging KOL's at all regional and national medical congresses.
* Create educational platforms with project management including contracting and budgetary accountability.
* Lead the external professional education and training for Pacira portfolio with select targets (large accounts and delivery groups, key educational programs third-party anesthesia and, new segments).
* Preparing training materials with training team to address external customers.
* Lead project management for regional and PITT workshops.
* Establish platform for KOL engagement within key corporate segment.
* Develop and execute education programs and communications to physicians and other healthcare providers.
* Responsible for monthly and quarterly team tracking of projects.
* Develop and execute peer-to-peer programs, including educational workshops for physicians and other healthcare stakeholders.
* Establish collaborative support for teams to meet customer needs, including but not limited to workshops, and peer-peer education.
* Collaborate with marketing on annual budgeting and brand strategy
* Collaborate with marketing concerning the planning of congress strategy on a national and regional level.
* Collaborate with operations to measure regional and PITT program success
* Collaborate with Marketing and Sales management to develop education, training, and data support to optimize appropriate use of Pacira products.
* Establish and maintain functional working relationships with selected key corporate customer segments to further scientific and educational exchange.
* Develop and present product and scientific updates to customers as requested using approved material.
* Represent department and develop integrated strategies and tactics at key corporate strategic meetings, at regional planning meetings, and with key specialty meetings involving customer education and training.
* Ensure effective administrative management of regional workshops as well as PITT events.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
May or may not have direct reports.

Interaction:
The Sr. Director, Thoughts leader Liaison supports all departments across Pacira as needed or requested


Qualifications

Education and Experience:
* Bachelor's degree in health science or closely related field from an accredited college or university
* Minimum 6 years' progressively responsible experience in education or training
* Minimum 4 years' experience in servicing hospital personnel on a product used in a specialty area: plastic surgery, abdominal surgery, orthopedic, operating room, or pain management.
* Minimum 6 years' experience in KOL engagement.

Qualifications:
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities and meet deadlines.
* Proven ability to communicate effectively with sales and health care professionals.
* Demonstrated ability to incorporate working knowledge hospital system including, pharmacy, surgical services (pre-operative, intraoperative and postsurgical care).
* Excellent written and oral English communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to coach others on use of products and clinical applications, including physicians, nurses and other health care providers.
* Proven ability to work effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to work on a closely collaborative, cross-functional team.
* Demonstrated ability to develop technical training materials
* Demonstrated successful project management experience
* Proven ability to deliver training/education on behalf of our customers.
* Ability to travel up to 70%.

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, talk, move between spaces, reach with hands and arms and stoop. This position requires considerable hospital presence and requires the ability to walk and stand for periods of time and to navigate through hospitals, surgical centers and other healthcare facilities, including ORs.

The employee is regularly required to travel by automobile as well as by airplane and other forms of public transportation. The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time (up to several hours straight). The employee will be required to move quickly in OR and other hospital environments.
