Job Overview:
Plans and prepares production schedules for manufacture of material handling products, engine starters, and pneumatic tools by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities:


  • Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements.

  • Plans and schedules workflow for each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences and lead times.

  • Plans sequence of assembly for guidance of production workers.

  • Coordinates customer service and processes customer scheduling requirements.

  • Responsible for CPC and/or DRT metrics and inventory turns.

  • Communicates with department supervisors and Master Scheduler to determine status of assigned projects.

  • Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions.

  • Ensures continuous system date accuracy for work order completion based on component and/or capacity constraints.

  • Reviews sales backlog and takes necessary action.

  • OSMI prevention, review and disposal initiation.

  • Prepares production reports.

  • Prepares lists of required materials, tools, and equipment.

  • Follow all ISO procedures and safety rules, including wearing personal safety equipment.




Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required; BA/BS degree is preferred.

  • 2+ years planner/buyer manufacturing or related experience is preferred.

  • Computer proficient with MRP Systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Basic mathematical skills.

  • Must be able to work well with external suppliers.

  • Must possess ability to work well in a manufacturing environment.

  • Must be detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision.

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasked environment.



Preferences:


  • Must be able to travel as required.

  • CPIM certification preferred.

  • Maintain product knowledge in terms of options, substitutions, critical functions/components, etc.

  • Understand material specifications in terms of substitutions, quality, engineering requirements, etc.

  • Maintain basic knowledge of supplier processes and capabilities.

  • Understand special test/witness certification requirements and actions to achieve certification.

  • Understanding of Kanban and JIT systems.

  • Able to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.

  • Broad working knowledge and experience with ISO procedures.

  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation and must provide dedicated support of internal and external customer requirements.

  • Must be a strong written and verbal communicator, able to communicate to various audiences effectively.

  • Team oriented, must have the ability to work cohesively with others.
