The Project Manager is responsible for project management for sterile processing, surgical and procedural services at Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, which includes Center City, JHN, Jefferson Methodist, and the Honickman Center. The Project Manager will demonstrate the ability to foster and coordinate the involvement of medical, surgical, managerial, and perioperative staff in planning and improving programs and services. Ability to organize diverse responsibilities, establish priorities, and exercise initiative and good judgment in achieving results.
This position will also lead several programmatic, financial, and strategic projects in an organized way to ensure efficiency and execution of results.

Job Description

Essential Functions
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson.
  • Provides support in the conception, planning, development and implementation of new and existing business and programs.
  • Supports the budget process pertaining to case volumes in surgical and procedural areas in accordance with University guidelines. Prepares supporting budget schedules and performs budget reconciliation and analysis. Prepares financial forecasts and explain budget variances on an ongoing basis.
  • Assists with the planning program development and financial allocation of resources; including capital equipment and renovation requests and day-to-day supply needs in the OR and other major procedural areas.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly KPI reports and perioperative scorecard for OR and procedural committees both at the regional and enterprise level to support utilization, patient experience, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Aids senior management on developing and implementing specific programs, products, services, and budgets.
  • Interfaces with the Epic@Jeff Analysts and IS&T Team to ensure timely resolution of issue to ensure continuity of all operating platforms.
  • Ensures all areas of accountability are compliant with all federal, state and local regulatory standards and requirements. Develop and maintain new policies and procedures relative to department operations.
  • Serves as the Project Manager for performance improvement initiatives related to surgical and procedural operations. Facilitates project meetings, develop project schedules, engage key stakeholders, and identify metrics that will determine success. Ensures projects remain on schedule.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's preferred in Business, Health Administration or related field preferred AND Experience: 1-3 years prior healthcare experience required; prior experience in perioperative or procedural services preferred Certification in LEAN/change management techniques preferred Prior experience with Epic and BI Tools (like Qlik) preferred; Advanced Excel Skills Required Prior experience working in or with Sterile Processing Departments strongly preferred.
