Position Purpose
To set up and conduct a variety of laboratory tests and experiments by applying established methods, procedures, and techniques in support of research studies directed at understanding bacterial biofilm formation.
Description
Required Qualifications - Education and Yrs Exp Associates plus 1-2 year(s) of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Competence in several laboratory methods, procedures and techniques as well as the equipment and instruments. Ability to work independently with good judgment and good organizational and time management skills. Willingness to work with/be exposed to hazardous materials such as infectious materials and/or hazardous chemicals. Knowledge of computers and software applications a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree with a major in Biological Sciences and some relevant laboratory or science experience

Laboratory maintenance; orders lab supplies ((backup is to be emailed to the M&I office asap upon placing orders)), monitors laboratory equipment and instrument performance, obtains maintenance and repair as necessary.

May assist in animal research; including maintenance of mouse colonies, injections, breeding, in vivo assays and entering data into computerized databases.

Description
If interested in pursuing a PhD degree in the future, participate in journal clubs, departmental seminars, lab meetings, etc, to develop associated skills.
