About Centennial Hills Hospital: Centennial Hills Hospital Medical Center is a 336-bed facility that is part of the six-hospital The Valley Health System in the Las Vegas area. We provide a wide range of medical services and procedures, including comprehensive women's services for the Northwest Las Vegas area. In addition to providing digital mammography, gynecologic care and gynecologic surgery, the Women's Center pays special attention to new moms. During their stay, moms enjoy special menus, massages and afternoon teas. The Women's Center maternity services include labor, delivery and recovery rooms, antepartum and postpartum care, a newborn nursery and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit. Job Description: Provides oversight and local operations management of the Sterile Processing Department (SPD) supporting Surgical Services, various nursing units, and off-site clinics. Ensures coordinated and timely delivery of reprocessed items to clinical stakeholders within the health care organization. Ensures local facility sterilization and High-Level Disinfection (HLD) functions comply with all regulatory requirements. Manages SPD personnel and serves as liaison between SPD and other departments. Maintains effective interdepartmental relationships, coordinates, and resolves problems, and ensures cooperation with other programs and services. In conjunction with Surgical Services Director, manages the overall SPD budget including determining resource needs, allocation resources and ensuring proper utilization in productivity, efficiency, and cost effectiveness of SPD operations. Develops and maintains a system of internal reviews that ensure service programs operation in compliance with regulatory and accrediting organizations. Qualifications Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Associates degree or Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience: Experience: 4-5 years' experience minimum in Sterile Processing with increasing responsibility. Prior supervisory experience preferred. Technical Skills: Due to the highly technical nature, especially related to interpretation of manufacturer's Instructions For Use (IFU), ALL SPD staff must be proficient in spoken and written English.
Certification as Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) formally known as International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CSPDT) through Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) is required. Additional three certifications listed below, must be acquired by new employees or current employees grandfathered into the role within two years. Certified Instrument Specialist (CIS), Certified Endoscope Reprocessor (CER), and Certified Healthcare Leader (CHL) through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) formally known as International Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management (IAHCSMM) or Certified Surgical Instrument Specialist (CSIS), Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER), and Certified in Sterile Processing Management (CSPM) through Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD). Note: Certifications must be maintained as a term of employment. Other: Microsoft office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), various applications related to Instrument management (Censis, OneSource).
