Description

We are seeking an experienced Mining Equipment Operator who takes pride in the safe and efficient operation of production mining equipment in a surface pit operation. The ideal candidate will be skilled in operating dozers, excavators, and graders to move waste and mineral materials to support site development operations. Essential Responsibilities:
  • Safely and efficiently operate D9/D10 dozers, 16 series graders, and Hitachi 850 excavators.
  • Conduct pre-trip/walk-around safety inspections and complete daily Field Level Hazard Assessments for all activities.
  • Maintain heavy equipment in good operating condition, reporting and logging maintenance requirements or concerns.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with other team members.
  • Be a leader of both safety and production for the team by ensuring compliance with all company, client, and legislated safety policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum one year of experience operating mining equipment in a surface mining environment.
  • Knowledge of GPS operation systems is an asset.
  • MSHA p.48 metal/nonmetal ticket is required; training and support are provided to obtain or update certificates if needed.

Work Conditions:

  • Ability to work overtime when necessary
