Position Description

As an Associate Product Manager, you will have an opportunity to join an iconic Milwaukee based organization in the largest business unit focused on growth. This newly established role will work hand in hand with the Product Manager to execute elements of the product management strategy for gasoline engines.

You will do this by:
  • Executing tactical elements of product line strategies, as well as the justification and prioritization of new product development initiatives for assigned products.
  • Initiating & supporting product development programs within the New Product Development (NPD) Process.
  • Collaboratively developing multi-year product plans and updating technology roadmaps for innovation planning.
  • Coordinating with marketing to capture and assess the Voice of Customer (VoC) for new products or product changes and documents it into a Market Requirements specification.
  • Providing product knowledge for sales calls, sales literature, and trade shows to answer customer support questions.
  • Contributing to the development and delivery of product and business strategy presentations.
  • Maintaining and reporting out on project and product portfolio status.
  • Participating in cost reduction and profit improvement initiatives.
  • Managing Product Configurations to support customer's product requirements.
  • Querying and analyzing business data to support product life cycle management, including areas of the business to grow or consolidate.
  • Manages new specifications and change requests.
  • Supporting cross-functional teams (i.e. Compliance, Quality, Supply Chain, Operations) to resolve issues related to product performance or availability.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

  • Strong business acumen, ability to build a financial business case and understanding of financial principles including return-on-investment, Contribution margin, and EBITDA.

  • Adept at working on cross-functional teams to launch new products

  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

Education
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or related field, or equivalent education and experience
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum two-three years of experience in product management, new product development, manufacturing, marketing, or related field.

  • Ability and some previous database experience performing business analysis using tools such as Excel, Google Sheets, Domo, SAP or other business intelligence tools helpful
  • Three years experience with global markets preferred.
  • Knowledge of internal combustion engines and/or engine powered equipment helpful.

Physical & Environmental Requirements
May require travel of a planned or urgent nature, both international and domestic
