The position is responsible for: Providing confidential advice, counsel and representation to eligible student clients on the Twin Cities and system campuses in areas of the law identified in the SLS Schedule of Benefits and determined by the directing attorney. This is a 100% time, 12-months annual renewable appointment for 2 years with a possibility of extension in job code 9732SL (Sr Staff Attorney I) or 9733SL (Sr Staff Attorney II), depending on qualifications and experience.
GENERAL PROVISIONS: The Immigration Attorney will work with and provide assistance to unit leads, managers and other departments throughout the university on immigration law and other issues in their areas of expertise. Qualifications

About the Department
The University of Minnesota Student Legal Service (SLS) is a unit within the Office of Student Affairs under the direction of the Vice President for Student Affairs, Calvin Phillips. Student Legal Services at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus is seeking an experienced immigration attorney with firm knowledge and understanding of immigration law.
