Sr. Software Engineer I (5642)

As Sr. Software Engineer I, you'll develop robust solutions using Python, build dynamic dashboards with Elasticsearch and Kibana, and integrate data across diverse sources. The ideal candidate will also have experience configuring internal and external networks, with a strong background in Army or tactical networking. This role involves designing and implementing scalable software systems that enhance situational awareness and operational efficiency in tactical environments.

What you'll do:

• Write, test, and deploy Python code to build scalable software solutions and integrations.
• Create and maintain Elasticsearch indices and Kibana dashboards for real-time data visualization.
• Configure and troubleshoot network connections to support application and data integration.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and refine requirements for software and dashboards.
• Optimize system performance and resolve issues across the software and network stack.
• Document software designs, configurations, and operational procedures.
• Stay informed about new features in Python, Elasticsearch, and Kibana to enhance capabilities.
• Support tactical networking environments by ensuring seamless integration and data flow.

What you'll need to succeed:

• An active DoD Secret clearance
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on Python development.
• Proven experience building dashboards using Elasticsearch and Kibana.
• Proficiency in Python, with experience in developing APIs and automation scripts.
• Hands-on experience with Elasticsearch for data indexing and querying, and Kibana for visualization.
• Strong knowledge of networking principles and protocols, including the configuration of internal and external networks.
• Solid understanding of data integration, ETL processes, and system interoperability.
• Experience working with secure and compliant software development in DoD environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on debugging and performance optimization.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with technical and non-technical teams.
