Description:

Lexmark is seeking an exceptional Firmware Engineer to join our Embedded Systems team. Our embedded devices are sophisticated Linux-powered systems that combine cutting-edge compute architectures and advanced imaging hardware with the latest in communication, security, and mobile standards and trends. Together, we provide solutions for a variety of challenges faced in industries of all sizes, from small businesses to those of the Fortune 500.

The primary responsibilities of this role are focused on the development, implementation, & testing of secure embedded firmware utilized to interface with custom ASICs that reside on Lexmark products. The nature of this firmware centers on secure authentication & will be written for multiple printer platforms with various architectures.

Programming Experience Required

  • Experience with design, debugging, and problem-solving using C/C++
  • Collaborative code development environments

Responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Developing system and low-level firmware to drive custom ASICs
  • Developing Unit Test(s)
  • Creating development/debug tools
  • Writing supporting documentation

Qualities desired in a successful candidate:

  • Basic understanding of microprocessor architectures and logic design
  • Working knowledge of Linux
  • Understanding of Embedded Linux/Zephyr OS
  • Understanding of Embedded busses: I2C/SPI/UART
  • Knowledge of Development Software: git, CMake, CTest, Bitbake, Jenkins.
  • Basic electrical knowledge
  • Familiar with various test equipment: Logic Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, bus analyzers.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices
  • Knowledge of authentication and encryption
  • Demonstrate creative thinking to identify and solve complex technical problems.
  • Possess a drive to innovate and for continuous skill development.

Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science

Security Experience a Plus

  • Knowledge of encryption standards & authentication methods to securely manage data being communicated among various firmware & hardware infrastructures.
  • Knowledge of secure coding practices & procedures for both security firmware development & implementation.
