Job Description

As part of High Performance Department, the Intern - Athlete Availability will contribute to the Milwaukee Brewers Baseball Club's (MBBC) application of baseball sports science and performance principles. This position will work closely with the High-Performance staff.

Core duties for this role include, but are not limited to:

    Partner with Athlete Availability to support data collection best practices, including but not limited to data entry and management, and contribute to individual development strategies for athletes at scale.
  • Assist in day-to-day operations of High-Performance programs in Arizona as it pertains to equipment functionality, data collections, data processing, and data interpretation including but not limited to ground reaction force, heart rate, range of motion and workload data.
  • Perform High Performance testing as directed by High Performance Leadership, including but not limited to force outputs, VO2 max, questionnaires, etc., ensuring reliable and valid data to support player evaluations, player development, and organizational decision making.

The ideal candidate must be pursuing or already completed a bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; applicable experience in a baseball-related capacity strongly preferred.

  • Knowledge of fields including, but not limited to: Anatomy & Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Strength and Conditioning, Sports Medicine, Motor Control, or Neurophysiology
  • Prior experience utilizing applied technologies to assist with player performance assessment and monitoring including data visualization (AMS, Force Plates, Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) preferred
  • General knowledge about baseball preferred
