The Shift Supervisor embodies the 100% Leader concept by balancing Challenge with Connection, enabling engaged team members to exceed safety, quality, productivity, and financial expectations. The Shift Supervisor is a key leader for the Hardie Manufacturing Operating System (HMOS), with execution of the Daily Management System at an L1 level as a critical deliverable. This position is responsible for the safety of the shift personnel first and is responsible for their training and development. The Shift Supervisor coordinates all production work and is accountable for ensuring safe execution of standard work and operational procedures, production of material to customer specifications, and meeting quality and performance metrics. The Shift Supervisor is the key change agent on the plant floor, identifying and removing barriers to Continuous Improvement (CI).This position reports to the Department General Foreman. This position directly supervises all production team members assigned either permanently or temporarily to the shift team and has responsibility for all plant team members outside of normal working hours (night shift, weekends, and holidays). What you'll do: Build Safety Culture Through Leadership: * Drives expectations and implements best practices, such as 5S, to drive world-class safety performance * Identifies and immediately corrects risks and hazards in the workplace to drive the Zero Harm vision * Partners with department trainers to ensure completion of all required training * Ensures safe, clean, and environmentally compliant work areas, building a culture where EHS excellence is seen as the top value Lead and Develop Talent: * Effectively engages all teams to collaboratively own the success of the business, contributing to the continuous improvement in the areas of safety, quality, cost, productivity, and employee engagement * Actively leads and builds effective work teams to increase plant performance, driving continuous improvement through HMOS * Partners with relevant stakeholders to ensure team members are well-trained * Monitors and enforces all plant and corporate policies and procedures Manage Safety, Production, and Quality: * Manages all aspects of the shift, including staffing, to meet operational targets * Anticipates, identifies, and corrects issues autonomously, escalating when additional resources are needed * Develops and executes action to identify and eliminate top losses, using Pareto methodology * Effectively utilizes manufacturing systems to identify, execute, and track improvement opportunities * Recognizes HMOS as the manufacturing solution and builds HMOS culture through:
* Collaborates with relevant cross-functional teams and takes proper actions to achieve desired output for Zero Harm, Rolled Throughput Yield (RTY), Net Hours, and employee engagement. What you'll bring: * Bachelor's Degree prefered * Three or more years of leadership experience in manufacturing, industrial, or related field * A proven track record of driving results through employee engagement and problem-solving skill * Demonstrated success of team-building and individual development * Demonstrated ability to lead for results * Six Sigma Green Belt and/or experience in continuous improvement preferred * Experience using computer programs and Microsoft Office products What You'll Receive:
