Job Summary

It's an exciting time to be part of the Health & Biosciences family at IFF. We are a global leader in the industrial biotechnology sector which develops innovative enzymes and bio-products to improve the performance and reduce the environmental impact of the cleaning, textiles, animal nutrition, grain processing and other chemical industries.

We are seeking an Operations Manager to join our Beloit manufacturing team. The Operations Manager reports to the Beloit Plant Manager and provides leadership to the plant operations team. This person enables safe and efficient production of high-quality products and serves as a technical resource to optimize plant operations. The Operations Manager is responsible and accountable for plant personnel, assets and the achievement of the plant related site, business, and corporate goals.

Job Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the Site Leadership Team to drive a strong safety, process safety, and environmental safety culture to achieve EH&S goals and ensure compliance with all regulatory and permit requirements.
  • Supervise the operations team to ensure optimal plant performance, including the creation and execution of plant and team KPIs.
  • Provide leadership to all operations employees by motivating, communicating the site's mission, facilitating training and career development, setting and reviewing performance goals, giving feedback and recognition, coaching, counseling, and managing performance.
  • Oversee and enhance site operations to achieve production targets, improve equipment reliability/uptime, maintain facility cleanliness/GMP standards, and ensure facility safety.
  • Partner with the Site Leadership Team on capital planning to improve site safety and operational capabilities.
  • Lead continuous improvement efforts to improve people, safety, quality, inventory, delivery, and cost performances across all areas of responsibility addressing issues such as scheduling delays, process upsets, equipment failures, and other production related concerns.
  • Foster teamwork and teambuilding within the department and across the plant.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Engineering or similar field
  • 5+ Years of experience in operations, manufacturing and/or liquid processing experience in a bioscience plant setting
  • Proven leadership experience (Teams of 20+ team members preferred)
  • Proven success collaborating with multiple teams within a plant
  • Lean Six Sigma certification preferred
