What does a great Software Development Engineer II do?

We are seeking an engineer who thrives in an agile environment, can successfully partner with small, cross-functional teams, and who wants to be empowered to make a difference. Software Development Engineers are tasked with optimizing large data sets and implementing data pipeline architecture. Build data platforms and data stores to support AI and ML solutions. You will actively be collaborating with developers and architects.

Responsibilities include:



  • Support the design and building of innovative framework and tools to support all phases of delivering Data Value
  • Support the design and building data pipeline architectures
  • Aid in systems optimization: optimize streaming products, optimize data analytic platforms, optimize data processing workflows: all are enhanced for robustness, scalability, and performance
  • Maintain, enhance, and perform research in support of the Big Data environment
  • Develop High Performance Computing Solutions to process TBs of data at scale



Who we are looking for in this role:



  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related technical field or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Functional real-world knowledge and experience in the development of software-based applications written in Java, Scala or C++/C#
  • Ability to produce high-quality, maintainable software.
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with the following, a plus

    • Cloud-based development
    • SQL and relational databases (examples: Hive, Impala, Oracle, MySQL, Amazon Aurora) and/or data warehouses (examples: Redshift, Athena, Snowflake).
    • Container orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm).
    • Web services (Microservices, REST, gRPC, XML, JSON, ProtoBuf)

Salary Target/Range: $95,000 - $100,000

The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, experience, education, specialty and training.
