Manager, Marketing Growth & Communications ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT:

Responsible for managing all marketing and communication efforts related to VyStar's growth initiatives, including merger and acquisitions, system conversions and adoption of new platforms. This encompasses all the stages of activities starting with planning the initial announcements internally and externally to executing transitions and supporting customer and employee adoption. Additionally, this role will project manage and oversee key marketing operations, compliance and risk processes and initiatives including leading the implementation of a Marketing AI roadmap, fostering internal adoption of AI technologies, organizing skill training and engaging across functional teams to integrate into organizational workflows.

Essential Functions

  • Leads the creation, approvals and delivery of all employees, member, partner, and community communications for M&A projects, conversions, system conversions and platform adoptions.

  • Develops repeatable M&A communications playbook that leverages key best practices from across the industry and learnings from past M&As projects spanning mergers, acquisitions and conversions.

  • Partners and facilitates input, reviews, approvals, and delivery of key communications with Merger partner internal stakeholders and external teams to ensure alignment on communications strategies for growth initiatives.

  • Oversees the creation and communication of the M&A communications project across internal and external partners. Manages and monitors the M&A communication plan lifecycle, managing and monitoring milestones ensuring accurate and timely completion of assigned tasks and deliverables to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Actively manages and participates in cross departmental M&A growth project workstreams to identify and address specific communication and marketing needs.

  • Identify, document and oversee the Marketing team's fulfillment of key compliance and risk processes.Support team training and tracking of key deliverables, ensure compliant processes in place across marketing campaigns and activities with easy to reference documentation for audits, support audit documentation/meetings and lead efforts to track and resolve audit findings.

  • Responsible for managing and engaging, oversee the Marketing technology strategy and approach that supports improved effectiveness and productivity across the Marketing team.

  • Collaborates with leadership to develop and implement a Marketing AI roadmap and strategy, including identifying use cases, benefits, vendors and implementation milestones.

  • Drives the internal adoption of AI tools and technologies, facilitating communication and training opportunities to all stakeholders.

  • Manages and engages the appropriate marketing and outside resources/vendors to fulfill the M&A growth marketing and communication needs identified.

  • Works closely with the Vice President, Communicators & Public Relations, the various business units, and interacts cross functionally with human resources, strategic initiatives, operations, lending, project management and other departments to develop and deliver effective internal and external M&A growth-related communications plans and deliverables.

  • Identifies issues and consults with management and stakeholders to resolve. Escalates to appropriate parties for timely resolution.

  • Creates and maintains employee and member-facing resources, such as dedicated websites, for mergers, platform adoptions, and growth initiatives.

  • In partnership with agency, digital, and HR resources, sets up employee and new member websites for each merger.

  • Sets measurable goals and targets across communications activities and reports results back to key stakeholders.

  • Requires strict confidentiality - keeping safe and secure all information given to and developed for M&A and growth initiatives.

  • Responsible for executing other special marketing projects not specific to M&A growth marketing and communications including member communications, advertising, merchandising, special events, trade shows, sponsorships and electronic messaging in branches and corporate offices as needed.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in communications with at least 3 years in the financial services industry with experience delivering communications to both consumers and internal employees.

  • Preference for experience delivering communications to both consumers and internal employees

  • Preference for minimum of 5 years' experience managing and coaching direct team member(s) large projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas in a persuasive, organized, and effective manner both written and verbal.

  • A solid understanding of the financial services industry and the laws and regulations that govern and/or impact the credit union is a plus.

  • Detailed knowledge of marketing regulations within financial services with experience with compliance related processes and tracking for campaigns and other marketing activities.

  • Experience with assessments, negotiations and implementations of marketing technology tools

  • Familiarity with AI technologies and their application in business operations is highly desirable.

  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple work assignments in a deadline-sensitive environment.

  • Experience in developing complex marketing campaigns across multiple time periods and channels with complex project plans

  • Experience doing customer journey mapping

  • Flexible and comfortable adapting to different situations and groups of people

  • Keen attention to detail

  • Able to project manage multiple work assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-sensitive and often confidential environment

  • Excellent judgment and interpersonal skills both in person, on the phone, and e-mail

  • Self-directed, able to accomplish projects with little supervision, and collaborative, open to others' ideas

  • Skilled in organizational savvy and effective collaboration to effectively and efficiently deliver in a highly matrixed organization

Computer Skills

  • Extremely proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Teams and Project Management software such as Smartsheets or Workfront

  • Good design eye and Adobe Creative Suite experience

  • Experience with developing good customer experience and usability design for websites

Education

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of four-year college degree with specialization in Marketing, Communication, Business Administration, or related field.
