The Tech Lead is responsible for maintaining the organization's global network operations, technology, and services through modern software engineering practices. This role focuses on efficient development, automation, and continuous operation of network infrastructure, including cloud environments.

The Tech Lead will leverage software-driven methodologies such as network automation, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to simplify, standardize, and optimize global network operations. This role will execute initiatives to simplify, standardize and optimize network operations methods and tools to reduce cycle times and increase security, availability, service agility, user experience and alignment of World Kinect Corporation networks.

What You'll Do

  • You'll lead large-scale projects and architect advanced network software solutions

  • You'll develop cutting-edge APIs using TypeScript, GraphQL, and other modern tools

  • You'll provide technical leadership and define development standards and best practices

  • You'll mentor and coach team members across multiple levels, fostering a culture of excellence and innovation

  • You'll collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to align network solutions with business objectives

  • You'll troubleshoot and resolve critical issues related to network operations and infrastructure

  • You'll identify emerging technologies to improve and future-proof network solutions

  • You will develop and enforce network policies to ensure that network operations adhere to best practices and compliance requirements

  • You will develop and maintain IaC scripts using tools like Terraform to automate infrastructure management

  • You will utilize network tools and techniques by employing tools like Wireshark for monitoring and troubleshooting

  • Network automation scripts are developed and maintained by writing and maintaining scripts in languages such as Python and Bash to automate network tasks and processes

  • Monitoring and analyzing network performance involves using advanced analytics tools to ensure optimal network performance and identify areas for improvement.

  • Conducting regular network audits and assessments ensures network compliance with industry standards and best practices

What You Have (Qualifications)

  • You have 5+ years of experience in network-focused software engineering

  • You have expertise in TypeScript, GraphQL, APIs, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • You have deep understanding of network security, DevOps, and containerization

  • You have proven ability to lead teams and influence decision-making at the executive level

  • You have strong problem-solving and communication skills, with a focus on innovation and strategic planning

  • Strong knowledge of DNS and DHCP is essential for network functionality.

  • Proficiency in tools like Wireshark and NetFlow helps in maintaining network health.

  • Ability to configure routers, switches, and firewalls is fundamental.

  • Critical problem-solving and analytical skills are necessary for diagnosing and resolving network issues.

  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Bash is required for automation tasks.

  • Ability to manage large-scale network configurations efficiently using Configuration as Code (CaC) practices.

  • Hands-on experience with firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems is essential for protecting network integrity.

  • Knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, and MPLS is necessary for efficient data routing.

  • Experience with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is vital for modern network environments.
