Job Description Exciting Opportunity at MSK: Manager, Biomedical Mechanical Engineering and Faculty Member We are loking for a candidate with a strong track record of innovation, the ability to lead and inspire an engineering team, and experience driving product designs through all phases of development and production in an academic healthcare institution. Your primary responsibilities will be to provide supervisory, technical, clinical, and administrative support for Biomedical Engineering activities across all MSK sites. You will also provide leadership in Mechanical Engineering and Instrumentation at MSK and to oversee the operation of Biomedical Systems Development within the Biomedical Engineering section. The Systems Development section is focused to investigate new and evolving technologies and their potential application in the environment of care. One of the main technologies focuses on driving the applications of the 3D Printing Laboratory to establish anatomical modeling, patient specific tooling, and surgical guides as a standard of care of MSK. This will include materials science investigations of new clinical materials to develop anatomically accurate skeletal reconstruction modalities including materials that exhibiting texture (look and feel), mechanical, and radiopathic properties similar to human tissue and structures. You will report to the Biomedical Engineering Section Head, working together to drive new directions of Biomedical Engineering and continue to provide operational support. As for other faculty members, research initiatives are also subject to review and approval by the Chair of the Department of Medical Physics. Role Overview Inspire and mentor a team of mechanical engineers to develop innovative and cost-effective designs in support of patient care.
