Range Support Technician II **INTERNAL APPLICANTS ONLY**

Job Description

Performs standard installation of fiber optic and copper range infrastructure. Operates, tests and troubleshoots point to point radio, channel bank, carrier systems, and video transport systems. Setup and monitoring of communication links including video, data, and voice circuits in direct support of test requirements. Follows established range test procedures in reference to communications requirements. Performs other duties as required to complete the assigned mission. This position is covered under the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Qualifications

Pay Rate:$31.10

Education/Licenses/Certifications/Experience Requirements:

*Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
*A minimum of three (3) years' Telecommunications experience or two (2) years' experience as a Range Support Technician I.
*BICSI Installer I within 12 months.

Physical Requirements:

*Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and physical and periodic retests.
*Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for work tasks assigned.
*Must be capable of working in extreme weather conditions including summer temperatures peaking around 120 degrees Fahrenheit.
*Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs. unassisted.
*Must be capable of frequent bending, squatting, crouching, kneeling, standing, climbing, and stooping, sometimes for long periods of time
*Must be tolerant of heights as some work may require climbing communication towers and the use of bucket trucks.

*Must be able to work all shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as needed, sometimes on short notice, to support test missions.

Terms of Employment & Eligibility Requirements:

*Must be a U.S. Citizen.
*Must possess or be able to obtain a security clearance prior to employment and maintain security clearance for the duration of employment.
*Must be a current TRAX employee or affiliate subcontractor for internal postings.
